Picking up books

This one didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. This is where Joe had to pick up his books. He reserved them several weeks ago online, so he had to come to Brady Commons to pick them up. All these boxes of books were stashed behind that grate-door, and workers went back to retrieve them for the students. Quite a deal.. but very organized.

Joe's closet

A shot of Joe's side of the room. You can see how little room he has!! That's a medicine chest on the wall there. The bathroom is right down the hall.. just a couple doors down. They are industrial, but nice and clean.

The electronics

The TV works! You can also see his DVD player and his DVD collection. He has the entertainment aspects covered, I guess. No books... yet.

Do you like his Spider-Man sheets? Brogan got them for him.

New College Student

Joe got all his paperwork, and he's coming back to get his stuff.

Unloading

We only had 10 minutes to park and unload, so we had to put all the stuff on the sidewalk while Joe got checked in and got his room key. Then Dad had to park the van someplace else (about 100 miles away!!). Several kids with Campus Crusade were there, helping schlep stuff up the stairs. One girl named Heather helped us carry the TV. There were also other campus Christian groups passing out information and popsicles!

Joe moves to Mizzou

Wednesday, Aug 18... we moved Joe to his dorm at Mizzou. Man! Those rooms are small. Thought you might like to see some pix.

The day was perfect, for an August move-in date in Missouri. The humidity was nonexistent, the temps were in the 70s, and the sun was shining.

Brogan and Janis came up with us. The rooms in Hatch Hall have cable TV, phone jack, and Ethernet network hookup for the computer. He has a roommate, too, but he was not there when we were.
